This is the year I said I would kick myself up the backside and get writing.
See, I said it here You see, I did say it. I want to be published. It is my hearts desire.
So, this is like, August, and what have I done so far?
Well, I guess I do have my story, ‘Holy Disorder’ in ‘The Little book of Love’. And it did hit the bestseller lists for about a week, so really I shouldn’t really complain, but….
But I’m going to.
I want to know if my writing is any good. I need to have some encouragement. Not so I can pat myself on the back and then sit back on my heels, but because I know I’m going to keep at this, but I need to know if I’m doing this right.
Oh, I did manage to submit my manuscript to the New Writers Scheme, and the poor reader didn’t send it back with smudges and cake crumbs and weeping and wailing all over it because it was an absolute disaster, but….
I entered the CarinaUk #WriteChristmas competition and didn’t hear anything at all.
But.
But I need a kick up the proverbial backside to keep at it.
Three pieces of work in one year is not a lot. Not much out there!
My new rule is going to be submit, submit, submit.
Three Reasons.
1. I need deadlines to get anything accomplished.
2. Queen of procrastination that I am, I need motivation.
3. Oh, all of 1. and 2. put together.
That makes 3.
So, for the rest of 2015, I am looking for competitions to enter. And places to send off short stories.
